UBER: The Uber app will work the same in Dubai as it works in your home country. No need to download any additional services.

CAREEM: Careem is very similar to Uber, and pricing may be a bit cheaper at times. We recommend you download the app and take advantage of new user discounts. You can select "Hala Taxi" for regular cabs or "Rides" for luxury vehicles.

TAXI: Probably the cheapest of the three. You can directly hail an available cab off the street. All government taxis have a standardized yellow sign at the top. Taxis | The Official Portal of the UAE Government

The fastest way to get to Abu Dhabi from Dubai is via taxi, which would cost between AED400-500 for a one-way trip.

Alternatively, traveling by bus is a good option if you wish to commute. Simply take the metro to Ibn Battuta Station where you will find the E101 bus service that will take you directly to Abu Dhabi Central Bus Station.

A one-way ticket costs AED25 and the full fare is taken from your nol card as soon as you tap in — so there’s no need to tap out when you arrive. The trip takes around 1 hour and 45 minutes. Buses depart every 30 minutes between 4AM and 1AM (next day).

In person: we recommend using Europcar as they have multiple pickup & drop-off locations in Abu Dhabi and Dubai, both at the airport as well as inside the city (e.g. P2 at Dubai Hills Mall). You can choose to pick up a car in Dubai and drop it off in Abu Dhabi; simply unselect the "same return location" checkbox when booking.

Through an App: we also recommend using either the Careem app or subscribing to Invygo for more affordable options. The weekly subscription will renew automatically so make sure to cancel it in advance.
